Our Post Modern Worship Gathering grew out of a desire to develop a community that speaks to our mosaic culture. You will find it organic, drawing on many different elements from the ancient to the new. Our Higher Grounds Coffee House provides the casual backdrop for this weekly event. The worship is sensory, participatory and holistic in nature. The focus is on being community, journeying together on the road of life, discovering the mystery of walking with Jesus. Our music is lead by our Aldersgate Band, a mix of people from diverse backgrounds. You'll find us open and inviting to people from all walks of life.

You'll find a cross in the center of where we sit. This is an intentional way we communicate it's reality in our community. It is located at the center because it is central to our faith and reasons for gathering. It is placed among us because that is where Christ meets us...right where we are. It is on the ground and not the platform because the ground is level at the foot of the cross. It is for everyone.

Communion is another staple to our weekly community gatherings. It represents the loving sacrifice that was made for us. In the sacrament of communion we see and find who God is and also who we are. We believe God to be very active and present during this weekly element of our community.

Response and reflection are two things that we encourage and facilitate in our gatherings. God's Spirit and Message are not meant to remain on the surface, but are supposed to penetrate deep into our hearts impacting how we live on a day to day basis. It is for that reason that we do our best to communicate these truths in a variety of different ways and draw people in as participants rather than observers. In this particular gathering we used a car and GPS to help communicate and and draw people in.

Another element that we desire to be characteristic of our gatherings is our openness to and desire for dialogue and questions. Unfortunately, for many people the "Church" is not perceived as a place where questions and discussion are welcome. We encourage questions and dialogue, especially in relation to following Christ. Please feel free to participate in our blog. It is yet another "safe" place for elements like questions and discussion which are so important in our journey as followers of Christ. www.aldersgatecommunity.org
